The Solstice turns, the sun stops its southward journey and refrains
from abandoning our sky for yet another year.  Does modern science make
this any less of a miracle?  Not when we allow this natural wonder to
remind us that brighter days will always return after the darkness.

May the worst day of the new year
be better than the best of the old.
