Margherita the Weaver shared: Soft Ginger Cakes Cream together one cup sugar, one half cup of lard. Add one cup black molasses; dissolve one teaspoon soda in one cup sour milk. Add enough flour to make batter stiff. Sift with flour, one teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Drop from spoon. Bake in moderate oven on greased tins.
