<grin>
i have a "rochester accent".. which means i tend to fingerspell instead of
using word signs... at speed!
my mom was always having to ask dad what i said. which is bad .. mom is/was
a professional interpreter and worked at Elwyn Nevil institute for the deaf
and multi handicapped....

i unfortunately was spoiled.. my brother was so much older that he was away
at school most of the time.. and dad lip reads better than most... and most
of the congregation seemed to understand my fingerspelling .. so i never
*had* to learn to sign properly.

oh, for those who dont know.. my father was the minister of All Souls Church
for the Deaf in Philadelphia....

anyway, after the accident i couldnt sign for about 4 years.. it was a shock
being suddenly unable to communicate with your own family.......
