So was this gingerbread the medieval type (mostly breadcrumbs, honey and

some ginger)? Or was it more recent gingerbread cookie type (used for

gingerbread houses and such) or gingerbread cake (fluffier, more cake
like. Served warm with a lemon-sugar icing when I was growing up)
