you might wish to read a few books......
Vegetarians?  it was called the Heretics feasts.. but has been re-printed as
Vegetarians or Vegetarianism... covers Vegetarianism as a religious and
other philosphical movement through history.

also... try Feast and Fast  (or is it Fast and Feast)  which had some about
Catholic life, but a LOT about day to day running of a kitchen in catholic
Europe...

both *I* got from Poison Pen Press.

also, you will want to read the three current books on Rosary and Prayer
beads in Period!
Stories of the Rose
There are Riches in the Rosary (a lighter book)
and
A History of the Rosary in the middle ages?
(i need to check titles.)
