	It has been very quiet- most of yesterday and all of today- nary a
peep-
	are we all on the way to Estrella? Is it safe to come out and talk
about
	Twinkies? No- wait- that's been done... what shall we talk about
while
	so many folks are off in the dust bowl, shopping, fighting, knitting
	exciting chain mail...? Surely not everyone has gone?
	Not that I don't have anything better to do, mind you...

Shopping? Did someone say Shopping?
Wellll....seeing as how one of the driving forces of the Renaissance seemed
to be the acquisition of worldly goods and the gloating over and showing off
thereof, I shall start the ball rolling with the following topic:

So what's the last cool consumable/kitchen toy/utensil you bought/were
given?

- Food wise mine was a small jar of quince paste which I have as yet to
decide what to do with.

- At Christmas in NJ I bought a round mortar and pestle that is shaped
rather like a mortar and muller (i.e. flat), but the bowl and pestle surface
are both about 4" diameter and very shallowly curved. Not actually quite
sure what it's for, except maybe crushing small amounts of powder or pills
even finer, but the temptation to add something weird to my M&P collection
was irresistible. Anyone seen one before? Know what it's usually used for?

- and a very nice 1930's breakfast set of cobalt-dye tissue printed plate,
cup and saucer in a birds and foliage pattern (Willow pattern is boring!) to
go with the rest of my dinner service, which is all mismatched 1920s - 50s
blue & white.
