Greetings to the list,

If I as a merchant were to collect taxes for every state, county and
city or other taxing entity that I shipped a product to, I would spend
more time finding every tax code for every state, county, city or other
taxing entity and following their every little squiggle than I would
developing and marketing my product. There is no possible way to keep current.

This is the reason sellers of any kind of merchandise so vigorously
oppose taxing internet purchases any differently than "mail order"
purchases are currently taxed.

Now moving things that interest the feds across state lines (booze,
guns) is a whole 'nother can of worms!
