[Sca-cooks] what are your thoughts on period-style food?

   Been lurking for about two months now - Lady Felicia got me interested
when she kept forwarding good recipes to her friends.
   Caitlyn and Naro's? Field trip! Foods of All Nations! (Sunday? Maybe?
I'll buy ya lunch....they have a fairly good deli and a sushi chef) They
shop there too, and it's right next an Interstate entrance so you can head
straight out from there to home... FoAN stocks Beer and Ale from the Weeping
Radish (a Bavarian micro-brewery and restaurant on the outer banks, for
those of you who wonder what I'm talking about). They also stock the kind of
spices that just cry out for experimentation. And powdered vanilla. What
would you do with powdered vanilla?
