Master A, I hope your illness is not as horrid as it sounds. Potentially
Lethal sounds pretty scary to me!

It is good to hear that the Arms were presented from our Cook's Guild.
Thank you all for doing that.

Now....about these cattails...(birds legs my butt!)...did they make you
laugh?....did anyone get a picture?? Before they were destroyed??
Well....???

>I just thought I'd take a quick moment to respond to Olwen's concerns
>about the lovely presents she sent us for EK 12th Night. I must
>apologize for the delay; but the free time I was supposed to get after
>last weekend simply hasn't materialized yet. Having been diagnosed with
>a "potentially lethal condition", you'd think it would be easier for an
>insured person to receive treatment, but then I've been known to be
>illogical before. Actually, my condition is mostly an annoyance, but one
>of a slowly increasing and debilitating nature. I'm choosing to view it
>as a sort of cosmic joke, and it _will_ be resolved, and I'll soon be
>back to normal, but it's taken up a lot of my time in the past week.
>
>So yes, Olwen did indeed send the EK 12th Night squad some lovely
>marzipan items, for which all of us were extremely grateful. The first
>was a beautiful rendering of the arms of the East in marzipan, complete
>with a marzipan Band-Aid in the event of damage in transit (but more
>about that later!). As I say, it was absolutely striking in its
>loveliness! The Arms were displayed among other subtleties in the A&S
>competition (I have no data on scoring, but will see what I can
>discover), and later presented to The People of the East on behalf of
>the Cooks of The Barony of Bright Hills, of the Kingdom of Atlantia.
>Just sort of off-the-cuff. "Yeah, another kingdom's cooks are sending us
>our arms in marzipan, djoo gotta problum wid dat?" Everyone was, of
>course, thrilled.
>
> Then there was another item, actually a pair. In acknowledgement of
>the fact that we would be cooking the legs of waterfowl in the 12th
>Night feast (in this case, ducks), Lady Olwen decided to indicate her
>sympathy and solidarity by rendering the most lovely pair of crane legs
>in marzipan! They were the lovely brown of roasted waterfowl, with long
>shanks done in either cinnamon or cassia sticks, and the meaty
>"drumstick" portions in an absolutely lovely rendering in marzipan! They
> were a lovely brown, and the detail included even the texture of the
>skin of the roast bird. You could almost hear them sizzling!
>
>Everything was gorgeous and very much appreciated. Olwen, if any rumors
>have leaked out to you about any of your marzipan having disintegrated
>in transit, do _not_ believe them! If that had been the case, we would
>have returned the items promptly for the proper repairs...
>
>Again, many thanks for your wonderful efforts! Sheesh! And I was worried
>that someone was gonna send me cattails or something!
>
