Also called glasswort.  The name is believed to be an alteration of the
French, "herbe de Saint Pierre."

>Sile- can be defined  as sieve  /or also refers to young herring (Norway)

Hmmm, I thought the herring was a "sild."  It refers to any young herring
other than a sprat.
