[Sca-cooks] a period food fight!

It was one of the old world gourds, of which there
is a selection that might possibly be the correct one, depending upon
the place and name
that they are giving this "food" that they are tossing.
There can be at times a carry over between some of
the names also attached to the melons and then later
to the new world squashes. Harvey among others goes
into this business of the New World plants being
given the earlier names formerly associated with just
the Old World plants.
