[Sca-cooks] Feast Procedural Question

It seems that, probably out of stress, your Baron's head is getting
too big for his coronet... I blame that on the event's stresss, since
according to your post he actually seems to be an ok guy.

Nobody will disagree that Kingdom Level events ARE stressful (I
just autocrated Crown Tourney here, and the couple weeks off-SCA afterwards
did a lot of good :-))). However, somebody, preferably the autocrat,
Huette, should gently remind the baron that:
	1) It's still just a game. We all want to do well, but we have to
keep this in mind. And we're also there to have fun. If you don't have fun
holding a kingdom level event, you should find something else to get
involved with.
	2) True, a baron is a Royal representative. However, in the Current
Middle-Ages, the populace actually has quite a few words to say about what
the baron's job his exactly. Sure you've got a coronet on your head and all
and a nice throne to sit on, but baronnial prerogatives only extend so far.
There's no baron without the baronny, and the people that form the baronny.

	3) If you're baron wishes to be the Uber-Autokrat, remind him that
the Autokrat's job is actually to let the people working for him/her do
their job without interferences. I also have to be reminded of that fact
every now and then, so I can't really blame the guy. He'll feel like he's
doing nothing, but that's probably just because he doesn't realize how much
time he's putting into the event in other ways. (It scared the hell out of
me when I summed up how many hours I put in preparing CT, after all...)

The way you're used to managing feast seems all right with me. So
you should probably go out and have a beer or cup of wine or herbal tea
(whichever relaxes your Baron) and remind His Excellency that there are
enough problems that can arise preparing feast and that you do not need
incessant probes/queries/conditions to burden you more.
