Uh, no, they weren't banished.  They were suspended from their offices.
There is a very big difference.  Nobody said they couldn't be in the presence
of royalty, or attend  events within the kingdom, or attend any event
anywhere.  The BOD wasn't involved in proscribing their activities.  They
just were blocked from holding or exercising their offices.  I will not
speculate about reasons for this, as I was not privy to any direct info from
either side.  His Excellency Ian has said that if anyone wants to ask him
about it, to ask at Pennsic, as the already scheduled review will be over by
then.
