I am so glad that the display was appreciated
and your very kind words made my evening.
After two nights of 4 and half hours sleep each
night, I crashed out after posting the banquetting list this
am. Kiri made me promise that I would post it as soon
as the event was over, so I did.
(I would not have been awake then, except my husband
was leaving this am on an ungodly early flight to
the coast and I was up to see him off. This is why
we simply had to leave and pack everything up last evening
at the event. I wanted both cars unloaded at home prior
to his departure this am... otherwise I would have loved
to have the desserts left at the revels and seen by the
general populace...)
Some of the time of day errors seem funny in retropsect.
Had I known it was to be evening, I could have come
at 3 pm with chilled foods at that time. As it was, the
whipped cream held beautifully and was much appreciated.
The junket/summer cream was not set up, but served as a
sauce as did the jelly of Strawberries which tasted
great but didn't hold. (And one feels that strawberry jell-o
probably would have survived... but this was the real deal)
Part of the problem was that after the 200 plus pounds of
raw chicken arrived with no coolers and little ice,
I gave up my twenty pounds of ice and
two of my three coolers to help keep the chicken cold while
it was debated in 85 degree heat what to do about the
rapidly warming fowl. Thus, the jelly and the junket/cream
had to be kept cold only with lots of blue ice bags in
the ultracold cooler. They were kept cold enough, but
the sloshing around and moving about mid-day didn't help
keeping them set-up.
Yes, there should be pictures of the desserts and I shall
see about getting them posted some way of the other.
 Although I don't think that
James managed to take pictures of the cakes and the watermelons
which made for quite a sight.
And I will post recipes later this week...
 They are as yet handwritten,
although I did a four page summary and description.
I have to play room mom this week for the end of
school year parties and such.
