While looking for something else,
I came across the following chapter
which may prove of interest to some
on this list:

"Reproduction Pottery for Use in
Historical Cooking: Some Problems
for the Potter- A Personal View,"
by John Hudson. Chapter 7 which
includes photos of salts,
porringers, pipkins, skillets,
posset-pots, chaffing dishes, roasters,
and pancheons. Pages 138-149 with
a bibliography on page 149.
This is found in
Feeding A City: York, edited by
Eileen White. Prospect Books, 2000.
ISBN: 1-903018-02-1. This is a
collection of papers from the
Leeds Symposium on Food History.
