Think of the shape ;-) I think at one time or another,
every food which could be imagined as being similar to
a penis has been touted as an aphrodesiac, as have
foods which are reminiscent of testicles- oysters and
eggs, for example. In fact, in modern Spain, last I
heard, the slang term for testicles, or at least one
of them, was "eggs".

There seem to be many fewer food items which inspire
desire in females, mostly, I suppose, because women's
desires were of little import- unlike men, women can
reproduce whether they enjoy impregnation or not. Even
most fertility symbols for women tend to be phallic,
until you get into certain primitives who use
statuettes with exagerated breasts, bellies, and
pudenda as representations of the desired state.
