Depends. Do you really like the taste of gas? The marshmallow will pick
it up.

And then there is the skewer issue. My ex-husband burnt himself rather
badly one day (mind you, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer) buy
putting a marshmallow on a metal skewer and toasting it over a gas
flame. Popped it in his mouth, and without thinking, closed his lips
over the skewer.

Major blisters for several days. Ow.
