[Sca-cooks] Greens?

Ok, I was reading through the article on the Settmour Swamp Cook's Guild
and saw a comment about medieval people avoiding leafy green vegetables. I
haven't tried many of the green pottage dishes, but there does seem to be
a lot of them out there. Is this a regional thing, a misquotation, or
what?
