Dazzle painting is an odd sort of camouflage - it doesn't keep you from
seeing the object in question, but does make it hard to identify.  When
the US Navy experimented with dazzle-painted ships, some of the
lookouts reported seeing things like bridges or cars and miscalculated
the size, speed, and direction of movement.
