Good morning all!
Just a few quick comments here. First, it was more than 204. I know the
below the salt was oversold. Chirhart may have a good number for that since
he was in charge of cooking for that.
In fact, we did six 'meals' as it were. Travelers fare Friday night, lunch
for the populace Sat., a "special" lunch for the Crown on Sat., two feasts
and breakfast on Sunday. And we were under budget!

>We fed 'em into submission! Two feasts, no waiting. (204 served....)

Morningstar made the sword and crown from "marziplate". She and Lady Mauve
painted it and Morningstar decorated it with the dragees and blue chocolate
flur de leis that Hans made.
The pillow was foam with a wood base and covered and decorated by Aofie the
Tinker (who also made other sewn stuff). Aofie also cut out a thin board
that the sword was "glued" to with chocolate to give it some strength. The
final presentation I did not even see. I was getting something out of my
car and when I returned I was told the "lame duck" was being presented so I
grabbed my camera and followed Temur to high table to photograph that and
was surprized to see the crown sitting there!
>Olwen and Freidis (daughter MOrningstar) made a soteltie - a FULL SIZED
>CROWN AND SWORD. The Crown was made from a combination of >marzipan (what?
>You didn't guess that?) and sugarplate. the 'blade' >was painted with
>edible silver, and the hilt with edible gold and >sapphire jewels'.

>Freidis painted the crown with the gold, and high lighted the top with
>"pearls" which I believe (but I could be wrong) were silver >dragees. It
>was presented to their Majesties Cuan and Padraig on a >velvet pillow
>(cardboard box coverd un velvet, trimmed with gold >lace). His Majesty
>after a few moments in absolute astonishment just >contemplating the
>presentation, picked up the crown and held it >slightly above his head.
>Her majesty picked up the
>sword and dubbed him "Sir Loin of Beef". (I think Olwen has pictures >of
>this.)

At some point during all the guild running in and out of the kitchen en
masse, the King said the figured a spectacular feast was to be forthcoming
because of all the awards, at which point I said "naw, we got what we came
for, we're leaving now" at which point I thought he was going to fall off
his throne laughing. I heard someone say "how do they get all those people
in that kitchen??". I was great! Just a couple more awards to go.
I think we should get a war point for one guild getting the most awards at a
single event!
And Lady Ro is right. Write in. Every time someone does some excellent
service or even a really good idea, make a note of it, write it down and
send it in. You don't have to be a fancy word expert, just write the list.
Congratulations sister Ro! Now. I can't wait to post that picture of what
short guild members do to naughty chickens...
