This must be a regional thing. I've seen court both before and after
feast in my area. Or, moved around if needed. This last Baronial Fall
Event, the feast was running late, so court was done before dinner
rather than afterwards as originally planned.

IMHO, the autocrat (event steward) was wrong. We've had this problem
before unfortunately. I remember vividly an outdoor feast where it
was threatening to rain. We had quickly moved as many tables as would
fit under what little cover we had. The feast was already 45 minutes
late when we saw the Queen making a leisurely stroll to the showers.
But still, the headcook refused to consider serving the meal until
the Crown was present.

On the otherhand, I was event steward for our big indoor event,
Candlemas, and the Crown (Duchess Rowan and Duke Hector, yes the
only woman to have won Crown by her own hand), said if they didn't
end Court when they said they would, to start serving. I've always
respected her for that, among other things. I didn't have to worry
