[Sca-cooks] hats, andperiod spectacles

i am still getting used to wearing head dresses.......
it does take some practice for people in our modern society... its like
glasses actually. if you wear them every day (like i do..) you almost dont
notice them any more....... but people who only wear "sunglasses" tend to
feel them and fidget with them.

oh.. by the by.....

i am poor.  oh, i dont mean "starving" but i do mean that i can afford ONE
pair of glasses.
i therefore MUST wear the same glasses for mundane and SCA wear.
i expect many others are in the same boat here....

now my glasses tend to be fairly non descript.. i dont deal with flourescent
pink wraparounds.... but i cannot afford to buy a second pair of glasses to
be "less conspicious" in the SCA.

it was quite an "ouch" for me to buy my hat! (and a VERY Nice hat it is,
with veil.. and the lady even gave me an ornament to pin on the front)
but that hat was an ouch... so dont expect me to buy a wardrobe of eye
glasses... not at MY prescription strength!
