I had to share this bit of last-minute frustration from one of my food staff
for this weekend.  He's smoking some birds that were shot by another member
of our group.  I spent almost two hours the other day cleaning shot and
feathers out of 6 ducks from the same expedition.  But hey, they were
donated, and free food is nothing to be sneezed at, right?  The ducks are
now in pseudo Icelandic Chicken Duck Pies (chunks of duck meat, bacon, sage,
s&p wrapped in one of the period pastry crusts and made into small 3-bite
meat pies), and the pheasants are (hopefully) on their way to being smoked
birds.

just back from 5 hours of shopping, more tasks and set up happening tonight,
and hours to go before I sleep...
