I won't mention the chocolate fondue then.

There's always the camp lasagne, made in a BIG long dutch oven, assembled early in
the morning and placed amongst hot coals. Shovel ash over all, go off about the
day's business, come back and dinner is ready!

The best thought, I would have to say, is shave ice with diverse syrups, some of
them sweetened with Splenda for the no-sugar crowd. Great on those hot days. I
have a new electric but also a hand-cranked shaver so I don't have to depend on
having electricity on-site. Either make your own syrup or buy some from the fancy
coffee shelf or from the Middle East market. A good liquor store will have
sweetened lime juice and blackcurrent "kir" syrup. Duchess Natalya likes the red
red rose syrup we get from the Middle East market. You know it's really hot when
they actually want Gatorade in the shaved ice! I will also frequently stock tins
of sweetened condensed milk and adzuki beans for the Western Seas natives amongst
us. Sounds weird but it's yummy, especially if you're a red bean fan like me.

Be cool!
