Well, Pa Ingalls said it tasted like young chicken pullets (um, do other
kinds of poultry go through a pullet stage? Or am I misusing the term
pullet entirely?)

I'll have to ask my friend about that. I know it's true of Persian and
Turkish garb but I don't know that much about Indian except that my friend
does it sometimes and so does another acquaintance (Lakshmi?) who is very
into researching period Indian culture.
