[Sca-cooks] English Curiousities

Okay....now I remember seeing "wine gums" and Malteasers (although the
latter just looked like malted milk balls).  What's special/unusual
about them? The wine gums reminded me of any number of fruit-flavored
chewy gum-droppy things you see here in the US, so I didn't get them,
either.  What did I miss? <g>
