Oh ya...

Pears are used in art and literature to indicate sexual interest and
availability, as well as fecundity. if a woman desires pears, it may mean
that she's uh, er, _hungry_, that's it. Or that she's already pregnant. It
is significant that May in Chaucer's Merchant's Tale climbs into a pear
tree to meet her lover, after telling her old husband that she craved pears.

Pay attention, and when you see or hear mention of pears, check out the
context. Someone's up to... you know. ;-D)
