However, this only applies to the facsimiles. Transcriptions, which do not
retain the format of the Microfilm in any way, are covered by the
copyright of the original work, which is now public domain.

On the other hand, if you are reproducing the digital format and/or making
printouts, that would be a different situation and copyright could/would
apply-- since the copyright of the format is there.
