Asphault? What's asphault? Officially, we only got 2 ft or so in CT, but
looking out the back door, and using a broom to measure, we're right at 3
ft. And I drove over here from Albany Monday- it was interesting, although
(IMO) not particularly hazardous.- rather deal with this than an ice storm.

I was rather amazed/amused at all the people who seemed to think their
brakes were functional. My high speed was 55 for one mile in NY as it was
just starting, then the rest of the trip was 35-45, mostly 35. Got passed by
a few people who thought they could go faster- passed one of them on the
side of the road a few miles later, and passed quite a few more who thought
they'd do a personal investigation of the snow depth in the median or the
shoulder.

Was chatting with a guy at a toll booth. He told me he was giving someone
change, as some yammerhead plowed right into their rear end. I guess he
thought his brakes worked, too ;-)

Only difficulty I had was the last 10 miles when my wipers went wonky-
didn't even bother to lock in my hubs until I was almost home, and saw no
reason to use the 4 WD, although I might need it to get out of my parking
spot.

All this stuff requires is patience, and a relaxed alertness, although,
considering how these folks drive around here normally, I suspect that's in
short supply.....

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.

Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
