I'm told that all the *truely* famous people have songs written about them.
Looks like my sweet consort Drakey has moved up one more notch towards
"Infamous"

Below is his very own ballad written by one of the Bards of Lochac Blod y
Evilgrin and posted to the Bard list for the edification & entertainment of
the masses

I'll fill you in on Twelfth Night when I get home tonight (it was a
lovely, mellow, entertaining event - Bordercros did themselves proud)
but several people request words for "The Drake Song" I wrote this
weekend about Master Drakey, so I thought I'd take advantage of a
quiet spot at work to oblige.

The story of this song is that Drakey announced that he never sang in
public unless he was drunk, and that when he was drunk the only song
he could remember was too obscene to be sung in polite company (where
do you find that in the SCA?) Thus challenged, I wrote a song that no
matter how drunk he was, even he could join in the chorus at least.
I'll get a midi done later in the week & ask Iago to put it on the
website...

THE DRAKE SONG

In the Laurel Tree, in the Laurel Tree,
Sits a little birdy, with plumes of finery.
Blue and green and purple flash upon his wings,
There's green upon his helm, and this is how he sings:
"Quack! Quack! Quack!"

In the Brewery, in the Brewery
Stands the Master Brewer, brewing beer for me.
There's ale in the barrels and cider in the kegs,
He holds a tankard in his hand and this is what he says:
"Quack! Quack! Quack!"

In the Pantery, in the Pantery,
There's lots of lovely kniveses, sharp and pointy.
There's flour on the floor, and milk drips from the shelves,
And Drakey has just cut himself and this is what he yells:
"Quack! Quack! Quack!"

In emergency, in emergency
Your potions and your poisons keep under lock and key.
Chirugeonate has issued decrees spread far and wide:
"If Drake is in the kitchen, here's what we advise;
Duck! Duck! Duck!"
