[Sca-cooks] OOP request: Jellied salad???

Seems to me this is where I came in... I joined the list during Pennsic,
and everyone was discussing potlucks and jello molds.

People take sweet jello, sometimes lemon, but others, too, and put
cabbage and carrots and other vegetables in it. Sometimes mayonnaise, as
well. So, even though it's called a salad, the base is always sweet. I
believe one can even add marshmallows. And pineapple. With the
vegetables...

Personally, I wouldn't eat one on a dare, either, or for money, though I
have eaten them for love - I had a great aunt who used to make them.

For some reason I don't understand, the category isn't usually used to
describe tomato aspic, or any of the other fully savory molded
salads/aspics I've seen.
