[Sca-cooks] Getting the most use out of a particular food

I apologize for not recalling where I've read these tips.

I have, however always had success with my tomatoes whenever I used the
eggshells in the soil.

It may be that using eggshells in the above manner and having successful
tomato seasons was purely coincidental.

As for mixing the shells in with bird feed, my mother was raised on a
chicken farm and that is what they did, as well as having read/heard it
somewhere.

If anyone has any information to support or discredit these ideas, I'd
appreciate the info.  I would hate to be spreading information that has bee
proven wrong or detrimental to anyone.
