[Sca-cooks] on a personal note...and squid

Light one for my lord husband as well. Jared is going in for shoulder surgery
this Monday, provided they don't postpone him one =more= week. His recovery time
is likely to be either 2-3 weeks for the achromial channel and as long as
Phillipa if they have to repair the rotator cuff as well. He has not been
allowed to take his usual pain medications for the shoulder and the arthritis
elsewhere in his dear body so he's a bear, he knows it but can't really help it,
and I'm a blithering wreck.

Oh, and he has a job interview today. I have no idea how they will plan around
his recovery. At least it's not his "mouse hand" but still, he will have to
stick to pain meds that won't make his head muzzy.

Best wishes to Phillipa, her family and her squid. Squid is really good stuff,
just don't think of Captain Nemo or like that. I like the squid chips I get at
the Asian market, mmm crunchy fishy goodness!

When can I schedule my nervous breakdown? I want to take a break when it won't
inconvenience anyone... [Does anal-retentive have a hyphen, and is it an M-Dash
or an N-Dash?]
