Pennsic War - Iron Chief Competition! Rules!
Rules:
1) Teams maybe made of no more than 6 members. 1 being a non cooking member
2) Only the non cooking member may leave the competition pavilion to
acquire equipment or ingredients
(potty trips permitted to all)
3) No more than $100 maybe spent on ingredients (theme ingredient will be
provided)
teams unable to afford ingredients may apply for an ingredient grant
4) all dishes must contain the theme ingredient in some way (ex - made into
stock or sauce)
5) any cooking method maybe used - modern or period
6) 5 portions of each item must be made for judges - individual portions or
served by team leader
7) teams must be prepared to return to defend their title of "Penn sic Iron
Chef's" next year
8) teams will be notified what the theme ingredient is - in camp between
8pm - 9pm the evening before the competition , so you can plan your dishes and
do any
shopping you may need.
9) teams will be provided with two 8 foot tables - you must bring
everything else (car access allowed)
that's about all for rules ~ use your imagination **** one hint, the theme
ingredient will be a period ingredient
About the Scoring:
you will be scored on the following:
Documentation (verbal) ~ Presentation ~ Flavor and Texture ~ Use of theme
ingredient ~ Authenticity
Extra points or Prizes will be awarded for:
Cooking Performance ~ Team Work ~ Kitchen Set Up
