You might want to read what he  has to say.

It turns out that this is one of the recipes that was included
in a modernized version in the 1997 Prospect Books edition,
so if you actually have the book, you can check that version.
Size would be dependant upon the size of the cookie or
biscuit cutter that use. They note that this resembles a biscuit
(cookie) and not a modern cake.
