While it doesn't cause me any particular problems, cuz, I do find it
irritating to be having the fonts I'm reading changing on me. I have chosen
a particular color, font, and size for my own convenience and efficiency,
and the html overrides it.

Not sure which email program you're using, but Outlook Express gives you
address book options, where, if you click a box, you can send email using
plain text only. I do that for all of my Lists.
