Trust that magazine to get things wrong as usual.

It's not 1492. The work was published by Pynson in 1500.
You can check the archives for SCA Cooks to see the discussion
we had about the book last summer.
Or Google:  longleat  cookbook 1500
to see several of the news articles about it. It was never unknown nor
was it newly discovered last year.
