Dear Esther,
I'm replying privately because this is a commercial plug...grin. I sell
the CD by mail ($15 +$3 postage) and at events--like Pennsic. I'm in the
Booksellers' Row tent, which this year will be up near Bazaare 1. Info about
buying from me can be found on my website (url below)
For neat info on hearth cooking, visit William Rubell's site. He wrote
'Magic of Fire', which is a book devoted to hearth recipes.
Cooks' Con--formally called 'European cooking from Rome to the
Renaissance'. It's organized by Mary Morman (MEM) who publishes 'Serve It
Forth', and is a partially scholarly, partially hands-on event. So far she
has run 2 of them, in January 2000 and 2002, in Colorado Springs (where she
lives). The CD is the proceedings of the event, with the papers and slides
people presented. The first one she did proceedings in hard copy, and the
cost of the color xeroxing was very painful, so this one is a CD.
If I can tell you anything else about this, just let me know.
