It must be the silly season--
I came across the following description for
a new cookbook--- see below.

This led to me thinking about a new cookbook
that might be called:
Medieval &Renaissance: The Cookbook
and might be described as:
Medieval &Renaissance are the new culinary rage. The range of flavors
available in
the cuisines of the Middle Ages and Renaissance
are bringing to all kinds of dishes with added complexity and nuance
to the modern American Table.

So if one had to develop the ad copy for such
a book what would you all say about it?

The real book was:
Salt & Pepper: The Cookbook
By Sandra Cook, Sara Slavin, and Deborah Jones

Salt & pepper are the new culinary rage. The range of flavors available
in
gourmet salts and fresh peppercorns of every color are bringing to all
kinds of dishes added complexity and nuance. "Salt & Pepper" takes
readers
on a culinary journey through the wide world of new and exotic salts and

peppers--from fleur de sel and gray salt to Szechuan and pink
peppercorns--and reveals their essential influence on the taste of good
food. Fifty recipes illustrate the broad spectrum of this dynamic duo's

many uses, from sweet to savory and from appetizer to dessert. Beautiful

photography by Deborah Jones evokes the pleasure of a newfound
appreciation
for a long-standing staple of spices.
