The five years that Estrella War was held at Schnepf farms were like this.  Oh, yes, there were trees planted... about 4 feet tall and with trunks about 2 inches across.

There are some good sized shade trees at Estrella Mountain Park, but they happen to be in the flood plain, as a lot of our visitors found out this year.

Camping "Serengetti style" is not a bad alternative to waking up with 18" of water flowing through your tent.
