You mean where killing or injuring someone simply subjects you to a 
fine, the amount being determined by how valuable they are and if an 
injury what it was?

Thank you. I will keep this in mind when reading these. One of the 
books I purchased at Pennsic was one with the Icelandic Sagas. "The 
Sagas of Icleanders" by Ornolfur Thorsson.
I also picked up "Medieval Legends" by Philip S. Jennings. At Pennsic, 
I got persuaded to try my hand at telling a story around a bardic fire. 
It ended up being a story that happened at Pennsic several years ago 
since that was all I could think of. I ended up telling it again later 
at another bardic. Perhaps by reading these books I will have some 
period stories to use if I ever get the courage up again to try another 
story.
I happen to remember that there is a pair of articles with 
recommendations on how to tell a good story in a place called the 
Florilegium... :-)
