You could try wearing a pair of cheap swim goggles.  Or instead of a 
Cuisinart, try one of the mini Handi-chopper type things.  I love mine.

It's funny - I have no problem at all with onions when I'm wearing my 
contact lenses (which is most of the time.)  But, on the rare occasion 
that I'm wearing my glasses, they really bother me.  I suppose it has to 
do with not being accustomed to it.
