Well, I don't know that it isn't true, but I must point out that there are
many places where birch trees do not grow as native plants, and that
somewhow, brewers in those places still has yeasts for brewing...

It is my understanding and experience that yeasts are present just about
anywhere- many are airborne. I rather doubt that the presence of birch
trees necessarily is an indicator of teh presence of yeast.
