Hieatt & Butler were mistaken about this. The first part of III 24 is a
recipe for fresh lamprey, but the part where the galantine is heated by
itself is really a different recipe: ". . . & if the laumprey be salt, . .
. he schal be serued cold & the galentyn hot kendlich."
