Just because some people call them turkey roasters doesn't restrict their 
use to turkeys. Hereabouts they are referred to as Nescos, as one of the 
major manufacturers is Nesco. Anything that would cook in a covered dish 
in the oven, anything that would cook in a pot on the stove (covered or 
otherwise) is a good candidate for cooking in a roaster.

At 12th Night we made up a batch of syrosye in one, and the rysmole got 
made in another one. So there are are two sweets for you.

The only caveat I would make is that because of the minimal venting and 
small space, you get a lot more trapped moisture than you do in a regular 
oven. So anything that needs to dry out (meringues, for instance, or 
things with crusts) is probably not going to do well in a roaster.
