[Sca-cooks] rose color(s) in period?

Um, red and white, in Tuder? 

But I have been wondering about yellow and pink roses myself.

This made me wonder. Today we have roses in various shades and colors. 
Were all roses red in period or were there different colors? If so, 
which colors are recent and which were period?
