[Sca-cooks] Chestnut help

I just got my hands on some first of the season chestnuts. But I do not have 
anything immediate for them. I am looking to use them in about 6 - 8 weeks. 
How can I store them ? Can they be frozen? Do I need to cook them first 
before freezing otr just toss them in the freezer ?
I am looking to make a chestnet pudding or something of that sort with them.
