Sorry. I don't do caramel. And frankly, my dear, i have never eaten a
Ho-Ho, and at my advanced age i think i will not start now. I mean,
if i'm going to eat junk food, i want the kind made with high quality
ingredients.

I will confess, i actually found one brand of caramel i will eat,
Fran's Gold... Few places sell them (but i know where they are) and i
think they're just a West Coast thing. They're wrapped in gold foil.
As caramels go, they are very soft, but not gooey. Not the hard kind
that tries to pull out your fillings.

So in the service of presenting complete information to this exalted
list, and because i enjoy doing research, i bought and ate one
yesterday... At the store i saw that they come in two sizes, Fran's
Gold Bite and Fran's Gold Bar - some have almonds and others have
macadamia nuts.

Here are the ingredients of the Gold Bite with Almonds:
Sugar, Cream, Chocolate, Almonds, Corn Syrup, Cocoa Butter, Butter,
Vanilla, Lemon Juice, Soy Lecithin and Salt.

Pretty clean stuff...

Oooo, i just discovered they have a website!
http://www.franschocolates.com
My mouth is watering...

I always hated, detested, abhorred, and reviled caramel until i
bought one of these.

But if you like, i'll tell you how i *really* feel about most caramels.

Anahita
