to answers your questions:

My masters thesis was in Music Theory (contemporary music, mostly), and
consisted on the analysis of the last 5 vocal works of a Canadian composer
named Claude Vivier (1948-83). I'll try and get the result published soon in
whatever form (an article condensed from the entire thesis, probably).

I'm beginning my PhD studies this week; field is Musicology, specifically the
analysis of popular music.
