Actually, you are talking about the 27 days of the Fast of Advent.
Christmas is the big Feast at the end of the 'other' big yearly fast (the
reason Advent calendars are there, to count down the days until the big
Feast).  The 12 Days of Christmas run from Christmas Day to Jan. 5th, being
12th Night, the Feast of Christmas running through the duration.
So, as long as you are collecting recipes and baking, but not eating, the
cookies in advance of the Big Day, you're fine :)
